Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 407727365
Jet-like plasma motions together with complex magnetic field configurations channel energy into higher atmospheric layers of the Sun. Within this project the investigation of different heights in the solar atmosphere shall allow us to study the direct consequence of these events from the solar surface to the chromosphere. This will be done in combination of modern observations in multiple spectral lines and state-of-the-art three-dimensional simulations of the outer layers of the Sun.Two teams, one in Freiburg, Germany and one in Graz, Austria will analyse both, the observational and numerical data with advanced methods of data analysis, in order to break new grounds in investigating the physical properties of the jet-like plasma motions and to substantially deepen the understanding of the dynamic processes in the solar atmosphere.
