Project Details
Metal-free Photosensitizers and Their Application as Molecular Chromophore-Catalyst Systems (A03)
Subject Area
Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 364549901
A03 focuses on the synthesis, functionalization, and photophysical tuning of organic photosensitizers with a focus on perylenes, BODIPYs, and naphthalene dyes. The project will study photosensitizer integration into PS-CAT dyads and soft matter matrices using covalent and supramolecular approaches. Automated screening and optimization of light-driven catalysis experiments will be established to enable fast analysis of photosensitizer performance in model light-driven catalytic reactions. Photophysical and catalytic analyses of selected PS in solution and when integrated in matrices will be performed.
