Project Details
Full Mechanical and Extra Cellular Matrix Profile of the Cancerous Liver during Tumor Progression and after Treatment with Novel theranostic XTEN Fusion Proteins (B08)
Subject Area
Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Radiobiology
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 372486779
The tumor surrounding extracellular matrix (ECM) has gained significant interest as an organizing principle of cancer formation and treatment response. Thus, we are investigating the mechanical and biological properties of liver tumors in murine and translational rabbit tumor models using multiparametric MRI and MR elastography. The ultimate goal is to develop non-invasive imaging biomarkers for the characterization of individual biological processes and compositions of the tumoral ECM and to design targeted ECM-activated fusion proteins for liver cancer treatment.
