Project Details
Pinning down the mismatch between acoustics and perception (A04)
Subject Area
Acoustics
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 352015383
With the aim of producing a most natural sounding perception of acoustic stimuli with ear-level presentation (“acoustic transparency”), we measure and model the perception with ear-level hearing devices (head-phones, hearables, hearing aid prototypes) both acoustically and perceptually in comparison to free-field stimulation. We will extend the scope towards bone conduction, the perception and recording of the user´s own voice, as well as aspects of music perception. The consequences of the conceptual and modelling work from project A4 will lead to improvements in acoustic transparency that are further pursued in collabo-ration with other subprojects.
