In the second project phase, the project on German-language narrative and learned literature seeks to explore the historical semantics of ‚translating‘ and ‚translation‘ in the early modern period using the example of German-language narrative literature of the 17th century, thereby extending to neighboring European languages and to the 16th and 18th centuries respectively. Methodologically, the project pursues the ‚problem history of semantic units‘, which combines methods of historical semantics and literary history, as it has already been theoretically elaborated and successfully carried out in earlier studies.
