Quantum communication and quantum metrology are novel fields where one can go beyond limits given by classical statistical descriptions. In both application areas, light is used as an information carrier, therefore the quantum noise of light plays a crucial role. To extend secure communication with continuous variables to large distances and to increase the sensitivity and precision of quantum sensors, specific quantum processors are required. The goal of the collaboration is to investigate novel concepts for such quantum processors, fulfilling tasks such as noiseless amplification and quantum state filtering. Furthermore, the application in quantum communication and quantum sensing will be explored and experimentally tested in this collaborative project with the Palacky University Olomouc.
