Project Details
Mechanisms controlling Th17 and regulatory T cells in the anti-Leishmania response (15)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 318346496
Protection against leishmaniasis is promoted via Th1/Tc1 cells, whereas Treg and Th17 cells are responsible for inefficient defence against the parasite. Within this project, we aim to study how cytokines shape the development of pathogenic as well as regulatory T cells and subsequently, to understand how they affect the response in the infected tissue to L. major, focusing particularly on keratinocytes.
