Project Details
Control of T cell motility by the biophysical properties of the tumor stroma (C10*)
Subject Area
Cell Biology
Term
from 2018 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987
This project will study the impact of tumor-associated fibroblasts on ECM remodeling and its influence on T cell infiltration. Breast, gastrointestinal and cutaneous squamous cell cancers will be used as working models. Physical proximity between T cells and cancer cells is required for T cell-mediated killing. Therefore, to understand the biophysical properties of the ECM and its influence on T cell migration and infiltration ability in the tumor microenvironment towards the tumor cells will be the ultimately goal to optimize T cell-based therapies.
