Project Details
Knowledge-based process planning based on past data (T13#)
Subject Area
Production Systems, Operations Management, Quality Management and Factory Planning
Term
from 2018 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5486368
The process planning of turning processes is often executed manually, based on experience of the respective machine operator. This reduces the flexibility of the production due to the dependence on skilled personnel, in particular if adaptive planning approaches are applied. The object of this transfer project is to transfer the methods and knowledge on knowledge-based process planning developed in the subproject K2 together with the cooperation partner ISTOS GmbH and the further application-oriented development. On the one hand, the expertise with respect to the knowledge-based determination and optimization of process parameters is transferred. On the other hand, the knowledge about the recording and return of machine and quality data will be transferred and the underlying process will be adapted and standardized for an industrial applicability. With the help of the transferred knowledge, the method is implemented prototypically as a demonstrator with the support of ISTOS GmbH and examined with regard to practical application in an industrial-oriented environment.
