Although experimental data point to a crucial role of B cells and antibody mediated damage in chronic GvHD clinical evidence remains restricted to associations but direct proof is lacking. In this project we characterize clonal B cell subpopulations directly involved in clinical chronic GvHD, identify host specific antibodies and determine their targets. Finally, the effects of different treatment regimens on B cell subpopulations and B cell infiltrations as well as donor-antibody mediated damage of host target tissues will be investigated.
