The aim of the project is the development and modeling of design and manufacturing guidelines for the plastic freeforming, which are adapted appropriately for the material and deliver statements about the essential properties (mechanical parameters, warpage, look). The provided guidelines should demonstrate the efficiency of the plastic freeforming. In particular the substitution ability of the plastic freeforming in conventional forming processes should be explained (e.g. injection molding). Moreover the mechanical parameters (tensile, compressive and bending strength) should be determined taking into account the porous construction of a plastic freeforming-made structure. Besides the variation of the manufacturing parameters in particular the influence of the material viscosity on the porosity should be examined. The pores should be identified and analyzed by the application of the computed tomography scan.In addition, the process-specific material degradation should be analyzed. The aim of this purpose is to develop strategies, which minimize the material degradation.
