Subject Area
Economic Policy, Applied Economics
Term
since 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 326731373
In this project, we analyze the workings of decentralized markets, both theoretically and empirically. We study price determination and contracting arrangements, extend existing search theory to account for learning about market conditions, and study the reduction of informational asymmetries through ratings and recommendations. We use data from online and offline marketplaces to test theories, evaluate policies, and derive implications for market design and regulation.
