Single cell transcriptome analysis is currently revolutionizing immunology and biomedical research. This approach enables understanding of immune responses at unprecedented resolution. The immune response is a complex reaction of not only immune cells, tissue resident and recruited, but also of mesenchymal and epithelial tissue cells. The new technologies allow to comprehend these tissue response patterns as a whole. Within particular populations of immune cells, previously considered homogenous, single cell technology reveals striking heterogeneity. Combinations of advanced single cell sequencing with global approaches to studying gene expression and clonality open new avenues for discovery. The prime objective of this project is to provide easy access to advanced methodology for studies of gene expression (RNA sequencing) and epigenetic regulation (ATAC sequencing) at the population and single cell levels for all groups of FOR2599. The support offered comprises sequencing on various different high-end platforms as well as bioinformatic analysis of the data generated. This will put FOR2599 groups into the position to resolve responses of tissues and defined populations to stimuli inducing type 2 immune responses and understand effects of factors regulating these responses.
