Based on the results of the first funding period on translocal networking in digital urban public spheres, this subproject investigates discourses on contested spaces and spatial conflicts around natural resources in the USA, Brazil, Germany and Israel, with a particular view on how they are negotiated on social media platforms. Focusing on the aspect of translocalization in digital communication, the project pinpoints conflicting spatial arrangements as drivers and outcomes of refiguration processes.
