The central objective of the project is to establish a modeling tool that captures the anisotropy of TRIP/TWIP steels across several length scales under arbitrary thermomechanical loading. The contributions of discrete slip and transformation systems to the overall single crystal properties are taken into account via appropriate homogenization assumptions. The macroscopic material behavior is predicted by means of finite element simulations of multi-crystals as well as RVE calculations for polycrystals. The predictive accuracy of the model is achieved through rigorous calibration and validation on the basis of macro-, meso- and micro-scale experiments conducted within the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC).
