Sulfated glycoaminoglycans as coating for endoprostheses to improve osseointegration (T01*)

L. Hofbauer, S. Rammelt and M. Schnabelrauch in cooperation with T. Oberbach and C. Witt (Mathys Orthopädietechnik GmbH) will coat clinically used implant materials for knee and hip endoprostheses with selected aECM. In order to demonstrate the biological effectiveness of this coating their osseointegrative potential will be tested in in vitro and in vivo sheep models. An essential objective will be the establishment a coating processes, which ensures compliance with the regulatory requirements of medical devices.
