Project Details
Multifunctional nanoparticles based on polysaccharides for targeted drug delivery with two-step release behavior (A02)
Subject Area
Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 316213987
Polysaccharide-based nanoparticles are suitable drug carriers, which can be widely modified in terms of structures and properties. Since protein acetylation significantly affects regulation of the immune system, deacetylase inhibitors (HDACi) could be useful for the treatment of inflammation and septic shock. We develop biocompatible and functional polysaccharide-based drug-loaded nanoparticles, which will be further modified to achieve tissue-specificity suitable for clinical translation in inflammatory diseases.
