Optimization and texturing of coated tool surfaces by local plastic deformation (A03)

The sub-project A3 deals with the ball burnishing of thermally coated tool surfaces as well as their behavior in sheet metal forming. This involves the smoothing and texturing of the tool surfaces whereby the material flow can be controlled. These investigations in the field of deep drawing will be expanded to press hardening in the applied funding period. In this connection, the material flow as well as the heat transfer shall be influenced.
