Project Details
Investigation on the application of near-net-shape coatings on complex surfaces using fine, carbide-based powders in the High Velocity Oxy-Fuel flame spraying process (A02)
Subject Area
Materials Engineering
Term
from 2007 to 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 16071898
Project A2 combines the results of the path planning, robotic process control, online diagnostics, as well as the investigations of ex-situ coating characteristics. In this context, consequences of the high heat input during the coating process are analyzed and regulated by means of a process- and component cooling. Thereby project A2 develops strategies to enable the near net-shape coating of large complex components. In addition, the transferability of the results of the near net-shape coating process to other spraying systems and feedstock materials is scrutinized.
