The main theme of this project is the analysis of loss of normal hyperbolicity at singularities in the context of discretized dynamical systems with multiple time scales using geometric blow-up methods. The focus will be on delay effects for fast-slow maps and to investigate suitable discretized paths in the complex plane. Beyond the case of iterated maps, we also aim to make the first key steps to study discretizations of fast-slow partial differential equations via spectral Galerkin semi-discretization in space.
