Following the successful syntheses of Lewis base stabilized Si2H2 and Si3 - molecules, we are looking forward to extend the chemistry of these molecules while using alternative Lewis bases. The reaction of Si2H2 and Si3 molecules with cAACSiSicAAC should give the Si5(cAAC)5 and (cAAC)4Si4SiH2 compounds, respectively. Furthermore we are aiming at preparing mixed hydride R silylene species of composition HSiR:. An important part of the investigations is focused on the preparation of stable radicals of silicon and aluminium. The reduction of Me2SiCl2 und Me(H)SiCl2, respectively in the presence of cAAC should lead to stable radicals in the coordination sphere of silicon. Finally the preparation of compounds with aluminium-silicon bonds and asymmetric compounds with Al-Al bonds will be extensively studied.
