Project Details
Modules involved in endosomal/lysosomal Ion homeostasis and function (C05)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
from 2007 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 25065445
Results from our studies focusing on vesicular CLC anion/proton exchangers that were predicted to provide an electrical shunt for the H+-ATPase (responsible for vesicle acidification), indicate much more complex and diverse roles of transporters in this functional module. We therefore aim at analyzing many different vesicular transporters in combination by use of sophisticated mouse models and cell culture systems applying newly available techniques (CRISPR-Cas system). Moreover the role of ClC 7 (lysosomal anion transporter)/kinesin-2-interactions in exocytosis of lysosomes will be investigated.
