The project investigates the modernization discourses of Bosnian Muslims and Crimean Tatars as transimperial processes of communication. It highlights at the circulation of knowledges not only between the Bosnian and Crimean peripheries and the postottoman metropolis Istanbul, but at transfer processes between the Crimea and Bosnia, too. Interpretating the negociation of modernity as a complex entanglement of communication, the project wants to contribute to new understanding of the making of Muslim modernity in General.
