Isoporphyrins
Applicant
Professor Dr. Martin Bröring
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2017 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 346919163
The project aims towards the development of the chemistry of isoporphyrins, based on our recent finding of an improved access of these compounds. Two major issues are to be dealt with during the term of the proposal:1. Development of fluorescent zinc isoporphyrin derivatives This part focusses on optimizing optical properties and solubilities of zinc isoporphyrins for interactions with cellular systems.2. Development of the coordination chemistry of isoporphyrin ligandsIn this part the preparation, redox chemistry and metal based reactivity of hitherto unknown metal isoporphyrins of the 3d elements are investigated.
