This project focuses on analyzing the relationship between otium and illness-related self-regulation in everyday life and in the ecological context of people with chronic back pain with or without depressive comorbidity. We will apply a prospective multi-methodological design combing qualitative interview data with a quantitative ambulatory assessment in everyday life of participants. The sample will com-prise of N=100 chronically ill persons. The results will be considered under theoretical as well as under clinical perspectives.
