For an accurate material map generated by a moving or even a flying robot, an unsynchronized passive localization system with a spatial sub-mm accuracy has to be ultimately available within MARIE. In the 1st phase, such a novel THz localization system for a stationary robot has been invented based on Retro-Reflective Tags with a large readout range merged with planar Dielectric Resonator arrays enabling a unique tag identification. The two central goals of S04 in the 2nd phase are therefore to prove not only the targeted sub-mm accuracy in the novel mobile THz systems lab, but also to extend the localization system towards precise tracking of the moving robot.
