Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 287022738
The goal of this project is to explore the potential benefits and challenges of utilizing Reconfigurable Intelligent Meta-Surfaces (RIS) for reliable radar imaging at THz frequencies using Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) monostatic radar. We investigate the joint design of the transmit waveforms along with the RIS. Algorithms with convex relaxations are used to solve this combinatorial problem. Moreover, we study the RIS capability to decrease the divergence of vortex waves, as well as the beam-tracking problems due to the expected high Doppler shifts at such carrier frequencies.
