M01 targets to study the unexplored potential of the frequency range [0.25 – 5 THz] for material characterization by real-world in-room mobile measurements. This will be possible thanks to targeted ground-breaking achievements in high-power, ultra-fast laser-driven broadband THz sources, which should enable us to achieve unprecedented high-dynamic range measurements at these high frequencies. We aim to exploit this unique performance to carry out novel long range THz measurements of mobile in-room scenarios such as such as “Look through materials” and even “Non-Line-of-Sight imaging” driven by the MARIE vision within the Mobile THz lab, named Terahertz Channel Measurement System. Additionally, will throughly explore propagation mechanisms in this unusual frequency band via beam based multi-path propagation. Last but not least, these ambitious measurements will allow us to benchmark the performance of chip-based transceivers originating from the C-Projects.
