Project Details
Micromechanical modeling of damage in polycrystals based on enhanced crystal plasticity theory (C04)
Subject Area
Mechanics
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278868966
To further improve the predictive capabilities of the micromechanical model and in order to capture additional relevant mechanisms, the developed model will be extended. As far as the crystal plasticity model is concerned, more physically sound hardening models based on dislocation densities will be considered. Furthermore, the rate dependency and the thermomechanical coupling will be accounted for. Similar enhancements are also planned for the interface model capturing the grain and phase boundaries. Finally, a phase field model will be elaborated in order to capture damage evolution due to micro-cracking in brittle martensite.
