The main objective of this project is the development of advanced methods to store simulation results which are obtained after modelling of granular materials with the discrete element method (DEM). In comparison to conventional methods which exist nowadays, novel concept should allow to reduce amount of saved data in several times and to avoid the loss of meaningful information. In a long term, the acquired knowledge will: - serve as an essential step to increase accuracy and overall efficiency of microscale DEM simulations due to more precise spatio-temporal information about modelled granular materials; - make it possible to store a much larger amount of simulations on the same volume of disk space; - improve applicability of the DEM in the area of solids process engineering.
