Project Details
Investigation of the Ultrafast Dynamics of Heteropolycycles with Multidimensional Femtosecond Spectroscopy (B04)
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Molecules, Liquids and Interfaces, Biophysical Chemistry
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 281029004
Within the scope of this project, we will explore the initial steps in the ultrafast dynamics of Singlet-Fission and investigate how molecular structure and packing dictate reactive rates, relaxation pathways, electronic couplings, loss-channels and eventually efficiencies. In order to address such different molecular and material responses in various time scales, we will perform complementary time-resolved spectroscopy methods on molecular systems with designed chemical and geometrical structures. These methods will also be extended and applied to novel N-heteropolycycles with unique photophysical properties like multiradical character, stable anions, charge transfer states, etc.
