In this project synthetic approaches and concepts towards a number of different types of N-heteroacene based materials is proposed. Questions of stabilization of largest stable N-heteroacenes are posed, as well as aspects of polyanions of cyclic oligomers of tetraazapentacenes will be investigated. Related to this, the synthesis of azaacene based diradicals and diradicaloids and their physical properties are investigated. Configurationally locked, spiro-based N-heteroacene dimers will be prepared and in collaboration with the Tegeder and Buckup groups investigated with regard to singlet fission.
