Seeing as the different kinds of relationships between human beings and animals have historically developed and are socio-culturally formed, in my research I have investigated the effects of SED ideology and policy on the relations between human and non-human animals, social representations of animals and the living conditions of animals. My focus is on the socio-geographical realms of pet keeping and animal husbandry as well as the policies of animal protection.
