Project Details
Dynamic compartmentalization of myeloid cell responses in neuroinflammation (B05)
Subject Area
Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259373024
Neuroinflammation is a common feature of autoimmune CNS diseases such as multiple sclerosis(MS). Our previous study suggests that myeloid cell responses in early MS may be related to the morecompartmentalized inflammation in the CNS. In this study we shall characterize the distinctphenotypes of myeloid cells in the peripheral blood, cerebrospinal fluid, choroid plexus and the brainof MS donors using mass cytometry and imaging mass cytometry. Furthermore, the dynamic cellsignalling of myeloid cells from different compartments will be assessed using co- and/or multipleprimarycell culture approaches.
