In project B03, the focus is on the reliability analysis of the adaptive structure, through which critical components are identified and secured. In addition, the fault diagnosis in adaptive structures, which guarantees a distinction between faults and disturbances and thus enables the reconfiguration of controllers and observers in case of faults to ensure a safe state, is paramount. B03 deals with the research question on how the fail-safe condition, usability, and load bearing capacity can be ensured during the design and operation and how faults can be identified. For this purpose, the influence of the topology is analyzed and an approach for decentralized and modular diagnosis of actuator, sensor, and structural faults is designed. The reliability and sustainability in operation is ensured by lifetime estimation and predictive maintenance.
