Characterization, modeling and reduction (B01)

Subject Area Applied Mechanics, Statics and Dynamics
Mechanics
Term from 2017 to 2024
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 279064222

The main objectives of project B01 in the second funding period are to intensify the work on adaptive structures with regard to different structural topologies and to extend the work to include plate and shell structures. Developed methods, e.g. structural analysis with re-dundancy matrices, must be extended to enable a qualitative and quantitative characterization. Model reduction methods are used to ensure an efficient structural analysis. This includes the parametric modeling and reduction of shell structures. Furthermore, reduction methods for modular systems are developed to enable efficient topology optimizations for adaptive structures using reduced order models. With this, project B01 makes an essential contribution to the fundamental understanding and analysis of adaptive structures.
