Project Details
Definition of context-specific microglia states and the pathways involved by single-cell profiling (A01)
Subject Area
Molecular and Cellular Neurology and Neuropathology
Term
since 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 259373024
Microglia have critical roles during homeostasis and diseases of the central nervous system (CNS).Recent single-cell studies (scRNA-Seq) have identified subsets of microglia during different diseases. However, it remains unclear how many disease-specific microglia states exist in vivo, what theirtranscriptional profiles, their key signaling pathways and their dynamics during CNS pathology are. Here we will comprehensively characterize and compare microglia states during several pathologiesby scRNA-Seq, single-molecule fluorescence in situ hybridizations and the usage of cell-specific knockout lines.
