In response to the call for collaborative activities between Indian and German investigators by The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) we propose to start a collaboration between astronomers at the Indian Institute for Astrophysics (IAA) in Bengaluru and at the Tata Institute for Fundamental Research and at Hamburg Observatory to pursue multiwavelength observations of solar-like late-type stars with the Indian X-ray satellite ASTROSAT and the robotic TIGRE telescope operated by Hamburg Observatory. We specifically want to start a sample of nearby, solar-like, but rapidly rotating stars in order to characterize their chromospheric and coronal properties by conducting simultaneous X-ray and optical observations. We further want to study archival X-ray data of these sample source and compare those with the ASTROSAT data and explore the science possibilities to conduct joint eROSITA and ASTROSAT observations and carry out simulations of possible observing programs.
