Project Details
Control of immediate early splicing through core components of the spliceosome (A15)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 278001972
Project A15 investigates transcriptome-wide switches in cellular splicing programs, in particular immediate early splicing switches that depend on transient phosphorylation of splicing factors and core components of the spliceosome, implemented via signaling cascades. RNA sequencing, RNA-protein interaction studies, proteomics, minigene assays and structural analysis are used to explore the molecular mechanisms, functionality and cell type specificity of immediate early splicing switches. The project also develops tools to modulate spliceosome-associated molecular switches for the further investigation of splicing switches.
