Project Details
High order schemes for direct numerical simulation for wetting and de-wetting problems based on the discontinuous Galerkin method (B06)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 265191195
In the project, the DG methods (Discontinuous Galerkin) are to be further developed and applied to existing experiments in order to significantly expand the range of possible simulations. The focus is now even more on the aspect of simulation as a magnifying glass, i.e. the visualization of otherwise inaccessible details. Here, boundary and initial conditions from experimental data are used, e.g. from one of the two guide configurations, in order to simulate sections that are not accessible in the experiment due to resolution limitations.
