Microstructure and structual change of magnetoelectric and sensors (A06)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term since 2016
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 286471992

The project focuses on the development and application of complementary transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and synchrotron-based X-ray scattering (XRD) techniques to characterize magnetoelectric sensor systems on multi-scales and with excellent resolution and precision. A synergistic methodological combination for amorphous structure determination of magnetic materials will be established and extended. In situ TEM and novel operando XRD methods will indicate the chemical and structural changes of sensors and their components upon fabrication and during operation. Consequently, real-structure property relations for highly sensitive and low noise sensors can be derived.
