Project Details
Role of mitochondria in the regulation of intestinal epithelial cell death and inflammation (B05)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2016 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 269925409
The project aims to study the role of mitochondria in the regulation of lipid metabolism focusing particularly in two tissues that are important for organismal lipid homeostasis, namely the intestinal epithelium and the adipose tissue. Using relevant genetic mouse models, we will experimentally dissect how different mitochondrial processes regulate lipid metabolism and control energy homeostasis in a tissue-specific manner and assess their effects at the level of the whole organism.
