Project Details
Polymers in interface-dominated geometries: Structure, dynamics and function in multiscale porous hybrid systems (B07)
Subject Area
Synthesis and Properties of Functional Materials
Term
from 2016 to 2024
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 192346071
A stringent hierarchical structure is to be embossed on silicon and the mechanical and functional behavior shall be controlled by functionalisation with an electrically conductive polymer (polypyrrole, PPy) or completely new functional properties are to be integrated into silicon. The piezo electroactuatorics in nanoporous silicon-polypyrrole hybrids shown in the second funding period offer completely new perspectives for electromechanical coupling, both with regard to the investigation of fundamental questions and with regard to applications. Based on the findings on "simple" nanoporous silicon functionalized with PPy, the actuator and sensory properties are to be investigated and optimized with regard to combined fast function and strength.
