Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 270050988
GUN1 integrates retrograde signals in the chloroplast, the receiver of which appears to be the nuclear transcription factor GLK1. It remains unclear how signals are relayed from GUN1 to GLK1 and beyond. In the next funding period, we will identify direct suppressors of gun1 and identify novel gun mutants. In parallel, we will dissect the regulatory programs that control GLK1 activities, and exploit the natural variation in GLK1 activities and promoter regulatory element across natural accessions. Computational predictions will be confirmed by promoter editing in Carda-mine.
