Single impurities immersed in a bath of ultracold atoms form a paradigmatic model system to study a broad variety of open-system phenomena. This project aims at measuring and theoretically modelling characteristic properties of the bath using advanced decoupling sequences. Moreover, we will apply Floquet driving of the impurity bath coupling which allows for very high control of the impurity state and unconventional many-body steady states. We will extend this objective to two periodically driven impurities and investigate the dynamical built up of mediated interactions. Additionally, we will experimentally drive quantum-engine cycles. Finally, we will theoretically explore the impact of environments with intermediate quantum statistics on the impurity state.
