Project Details
Biobank of human right ventricular tissue, lung and blood specimens from CTEPH patients (CP01)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
since 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 268555672
RNA sequencing of RV samples of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) pre (n=100) and post (n=34) pulmonary thrombendarterectomy (PEA) revealed specific gene expression patterns. Morphometric data proved RV reverse remodeling after PEA. Now transcriptomic and proteomic results will be correlated with clinical data. The data provided to the different CRC1213 projects will, e. g. be analyzed for functional relevance as potential biomarkers for PH, and the topography of regulated genes will be assessed and related to function. The biobank will be broadened by 1) collecting PA wall samples during PEA, 2) RV biopsies from patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) as control, and 3) right atrial biopsies.
