Project Details
Microstructuring and automated joining technologies for piezo fibers in metal carrier (A02)
Subject Area
Metal-Cutting and Abrasive Manufacturing Engineering
Term
from 2006 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 21440441
Goal of the subproject A02 is the development of high-volume production compatible processes for the manufacturing of structural parts with sensor or actuator functionality. The leading vision of the subproject is the increase of the productivity and process reliability of the micro structuring and forming process used for the direct integration of interconnected piezoceramic macro fibers (PSV) into sheet metal. The process steps and tool technologies like joining tools with an elastic tolerance compensation are methodically developed and experimentally tested. Furthermore, in-process control using inherent sensor signals is developed to reach a defined pre-tension of the PSV during the joining by forming process.
