The measurements and model studies conducted within TRR 172 will create an enormous of amount of data, which have to be combined and made comparable. This will be done using a statistical approach, considering the existing validation from the different techniques. Furthermore, the data need to be stored on a database, with high international reputation, where specified data can be downloaded and cited. We decided to use the Publishing Network for Geoscientific & Environmental Data (PANGAEA) for this purpose.
