The increasing individual motor car traffic in many urbanized areas induces the dire need to efficiently utilize existing parking space. This project aims to optimize the layout of parking lots. With the help of mathematical optimization we maximize the number of parking bays on a given parking lot, so that all bays are directly accessible via a road system. This way, decision support systems helping parking lot designers and urban planners can be derived.
