The CRC 1192 “Immune-Mediated Glomerular Diseases” is commited to promoting the careers of excellent young basic and clinician scientists. To achieve this goal, the CRC has established a well-structured graduate research program for MD and PhD students that successfully attracted outstanding students with a strong scientific interest in the fields of nephrology and immunology. During the previous funding periods, this Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) provided funds to 70 medical students for one year, enabling them to spend one year of dedicated laboratory work on their ambitious experimental MD theses. In addition, 23 PhD students funded within the individual CRC projects were integrated into the structured research training program of the graduate school.
